• ILAWPD at the Deans Parley Event Organized by the Dean Faculty Of Law University Of Abuja, Nigeria

On 30 June 2026, the Institute of Law and  Professional Development joined the Faculty of Law, University of Abuja, for the Dean's Parley, a gathering that brought together law students, faculty members, distinguished guests, and leaders within the legal community. The event featured a keynote address by Dr. Musa Aliyu, SAN, Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), who challenged students to become the next generation of anti-corruption advocates and ethical leaders in the legal profession. As part of the programme, the Institute of Law and  Professional Development team engaged students on professional development, career readiness, and preparing for opportunities beyond law school. Following the event, members of the Institute also interacted with students, sharing practical guidance on navigating legal education and building meaningful careers in the profession. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, representatives of the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, alongside other distinguished guests. These conversations culminated in an informal commitment by the Institute of Law and  Professional Development to continue supporting students throughout their academic journey and as they transition into legal practice. At the Institute of Law and Professional Development, we believe that strengthening the legal profession begins long before graduation. By engaging directly with law students and fostering partnerships with institutions, we remain committed to bridging the gap between legal education and practice while equipping the next generation of lawyers to lead with competence, integrity, and purpose.
